The AfriquEurope project, in collaboration with the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, successfully organized an international conference on

“China in Africa and EU-China-Africa Relations“

on September 23-24, 2024, in Shanghai. The event brought together leading academics and experts from African, Chinese, and European universities and think tanks, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas on the evolving trilateral relationship.

Through insightful presentations and productive discussions, the conference provided a comprehensive analysis of China’s growing role in Africa and its implications for EU-Africa relations. Participants praised the event for its collaborative spirit and the diversity of perspectives, which led to a deeper understanding of geopolitical, economic, and developmental dynamics in Africa.
